Welcome to the new Buy the Book website. We hope you find the new web address and layout easy to use and informative. This site is connected to a brick and mortar bookstore that is unlike any other you have ever visited. We love books! In fact, books are some of our best friends, so we treat them lovingly. Yes, most of our books are used, but most are like-new and are meticulously organized.

You won't find a musty smelling "stacked from floor to ceiling" tangle of cast-offs. Our store has over 15,000 books in a pleasant and easy to navigate atmosphere. We keep a list of our entire inventory on a computer database. Feel free to call or e-mail us with the book you've been looking for and if we don't have it, we'll do our best to help you locate it.

We are more than a building filled with books; we also cater to book lovers' needs in many other ways. We offer weekly discounts on authors and/or genres. Click on the Calendar page to find out when your favorite author will be going on sale. You'll also find information about special events at our store as well as book signings and events in our area. If you're interested in learning about a new author to read, you'll want to visit our Book Reviews page.

We host book reviews that aid the avid reader in deciding on a particular book. Wi-fi is available, so feel free to bring your laptop and hang out next to the fireplace in a comfy chair. Ask one of our staff to search for information about an author or title you'd like researched. Coffee and cookies are complimentary because, even though no one can explain why, books and coffee just go to together.

A bookstore is hardly a bookstore without a cat and Carl is the quintessential bookstore cat. He's the friendliest feline in Kawkawlin, but he's perfectly content to hang out in the backroom if a customer has allergies or aversions.
Carl has his favorites just like everyone else. Here are his thoughts on a book that has tickled his fancy lately...

Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World by Vicki Myron
"The story of Dewey, who was stuffed into the book return slot of a library when he was a kitten, is indeed a fascinating story. Unfortunately, the woman who wrote the story feels it necessary to include her own personal anecdotes as well, ZZZ..."
